Sometimes it’s the simple things that work the best. Not that I don’t believe fully in the myriad of tools and techniques I know to shift energy and states of being, it’s just that sometimes they can be too much.
Take yesterday for example. I have some chronic discomfort in my front upper and lower teeth and gums. I met with an energy healer and we spent 75 minutes applying a number of energy tools to shift this creation of mine (as in, we each create everything in our lives and every creation is also an illusion). By the end of our time together there was even more discomfort than when we started. Sigh.
Certainly not his fault, but it was a great example of the law of attraction that states whatever you focus upon is energized by your focus. The more I tried to shift the discomfort, the more the discomfort. There’s a fine line between allowing a creation to “dis-create” and the core dynamic of trying to force a particular outcome. Big sigh.
Ben Zander popped into my head this morning as I was reflecting on the work I did yesterday with the healer. I heard Mr. Zander give a truly inspiring keynote at a conference way back in 2004. So, my antennae went up recognizing communication coming from my Higher Self reminding me of Mr. Zander and his talk on the Art of Possibility.
Letting my mind relax to receive what was there for me, I remembered his drawing of a spiral to represent our thoughts. “We can either let our thoughts spiral downward, or spiral upward, and the world around us shifts according to which direction we choose.” Oh so simple that diagram, and in the moment of seeing it again, I experienced the possibility of something different showing up for me. Funny thing is, it was the energy embedded in that simple drawing that held relief for me, and not necessarily the intellectual understanding of it, which is how symbols work.
Okay, so I’m not 100% without discomfort yet. However, I’ve stopped trying to make it go away and playing more easily with one of Paul’s tools for finding the energetic state of “living in the reality of” my teeth/gums as a non-issue. And the spiral is ever present in the background representing the energy of possibility without force, trusting divine timing and letting go of the “cursed how’s”.
Integrative Action Steps for your own take away:
- It’s easy to fall into the trap of trying to force a change in your life where you are feeling stuck. Notice if you are trying to make something happen or expecting a specific outcome. Play with focusing on elsewhere for a change (HA, I see the pun!).
- When a random memory shows up, recognize it as communication and allow your Higher Self to show you the beneficial aspects of that memory.
- Symbols are simple ways to ignite a whole “package of energy.” What symbols in your life move you UP the spiral of possibility?
Would love to hear your comments on receiving communication or the use of symbols in your life.
